South Bend Clutch Heavy Duty 425 horsepower Organic  Facing Performance Clutch Kit is an excellent choice for replacing the stock clutch on a 5 speed Ford Powerstroke diesel pickup truck with no upgrades, or with moderate performance modifications. Includes heavy duty single/solid mass flywheel to replace the factory dual mass flywheel! Kit Includes: Flywheel, Clutch Disc, Pressure Plate & Throwout and Pilot Bearings. All clutch kits include everything needed to do the job including our Kevlar pilot bushing.

NOTE: It's very important to Break-In your clutch with 500 miles of stop and go driving before you pull a load.
Your clutch will last longer if you avoid down-shifting whenever possible.  Down-shifting flexes the pressure plate, causing uneven wear.  Just remember, Use your breaks instead--they're are alot less expensive to replace!

    I have not installed this product yet. The parts look fantastic. Gary is such a wonderful person to work with. I would definately buy from them again.

    This is a very good quality clutch, everything needed came with the kit and it went together perfectly. Approaching the end of my break in period and I couldn't be happier

    Review of installation and initial use

    Package was shipped for free in a very reasonable time in two boxes. 3-business days... The components of the package were all labeled and came with installation directions from southbend. Black cloud is one of the only distributers online with the HD option. I converted from an oem dual mass flywheel to this kit and noticed the following things:
    1)Clutch pedal force is much less than stock. Requiring only 1/3 of the foot pressure.
    2)Engagement is much quicker with less slip. It is not on or off but will take a few trips to get use to. It is still very possible to finely operate in conditions requiring little movement of the vehicle. Ie backing up to a trailer.
    3) you can definitely hear a gear rolling sound especially when WOT past 2500rpm or when lugging the engine coming to a stop and not depressing the clutch. This noise is different NOT louder.

    Overall, happy with shipping, install, and first 1000miles.

    Installed on a '97 F-350 powerstroke.
